[Introducing Hotel] Vol.049 Comfort Hotel Shinsaibashi in Osaka, Japan

Last week I stayed at hotel in Osaka and would like to introduce "Comfort Hotel Shinsaibashi".

The location of this hotel is between Shinsaibashi and Nagahori station.
I think it will take 5 minutes on foot from the both station.
I went to the hotel from Nipponbashi station and it took 10-15 minutes.

As this hotel is in shopping street, there are many restaurants, shops and others.
I think it is convenient for dinner, shopping etc..

Convenience-store is in the same building on 1st floor.

The room I stayed at was single room.
It was not large, normal single-room but so clean.

The charge was 9000JPY(US$93 if US$1=105JPY) and I think it is reasonable.

Lunch at Osaka Tsuruhashi (Yakiniku)

When I went to Osaka last week, I had time for lunch.
Then I got off a train at Tsuruhashi station.
I am not sure you know well about Osaka/Tsuruhashi but there are many Yakiniku restaurants around this station.

Looking for good restaurant, I found it.
The restaurant offered bulgogi lunch as the following picture shows.

The name of it was Ran(蘭).

As it was around 11:20, there are a few people and I did not need to wait.

The taste and volume was good for me.

Price was 980JPY and I think it is reasonable.

Lunch Box: Naniwa Mansai

I went to Osaka on business last week.
When I return to Tokyo, I bought lunch box at New Osaka station named "Naniwa Mansai".

"Naniwa(なにわ)" is old word and means "Osaka".
"Mansai(満載)" means "full of".
Then "Naniwa Mansai" in Japanese means "The lunch box is filled with the foods in Osaka" according to my direct translation.

As the name of lunch box saying, it is filled with Osaka foods,

(1) Source Yakisoba => Fried soba noodles seasoned with sauce
(2) Kushikatsu (you know well !!)
(3) Takoyaki => Octopus Dumplings

and something.

SInce you can buy it at New Osaka station of Shinkan sen, Let's try !

The name of lunch box -- "Kyo no Obanzai"

When I came back to Tokyo from Osaka, I bought lunch box at Shin-Osaka station.
The name of it is "Kyo no Obanzai".

I think "Kyo(京)" means "Kyoto(京都)" but did not know the meaning of "Obanzai".
According to my checking, "Obanzai" seems to mean "side dishes" that has been used in Kyoto.

I lived in Kyoto about 30years ago but the materials, taste etc. seem to be the one of Kyoto, in fact.

In Shinkansen, you can feel Kyoto if you buy it !!

Osaka Tsuruhashi Yakiniku !!

When I went to Osaka last week on business, our customer took me to famous Yakiniku restaurant at Tsuruhashi. The name of it is "Sora(空)".
The Kanji of "空" means "sky" or "empty" in English.

Do you know Kanji of "Yakiniku" ?
It is just "焼肉".
"焼" means "grill" or "roast" and I think "grill" is close.
"肉" means, off course?, "meat".

In Japanese "肉" means generic name and it includes beef, pork, chicken etc.
But when the younger says "I want to eat "肉" ", it is almost beef.

Going back to restaurant, everything was good, especially sauce, not so sweet but not spicy. It matches beer !!

Osaka Namba Yoneya Kushikatsu

I went to Osaka last week and my friends took me to Kushikatsu restaurant at Namba.
The name of restaurant is Yoneya and it is located in underground shopping area, named "Namba Walk".

Appearance of it is normal but the Kushikatu is so so delicious !
Mouth-feel is different from the one of other shop and it mixed "soft" and "crispy".
I have never had this kind of Kushikatsu.

Besides the drink, "Jun Hai" is famous.
"Jun Hai" means Japanese spirit(ShouChu) with soda.
It is not sweet but refreshed feeling and matches Kushikatsu.

Yokubari Bento

I went to Osaka the day before yesterday and bought lunch box before getting on Shinkansen.This time I bought "Yokubari Bento".

"Bento(弁当)" means "lunch box" I seemed to explain for many times in this blog.
"Yokubari" means "greed" in direct transition but it is not bad meaning and I think it means "there are many kinds of meat in the lunch box".

According to the web site of the company, it is explained as follows.

Assorted minced Iberian pork cutlets, a Wagyu beef croquette and crumbed pork cutlets.

Ramen Shop near Richmond Hotel

I introduced Richmond Hotel Higashi Osaka before as the following movie shows.

I stayed at this hotel again and wanted to eat Ramen(noodle) at midnight.
Walking around the hotel, I found it !

The name of the shop is "Kappa Ramen Honpo".

The taste of soup is Tonkotsu(pork bone) but not so strong, comparing with the one in Kyusyu area.

There are many roasted pork fillets as the following picture shows, I think it is better they are soaked by soup before eating, besides it is better to add sesame.
